Identifying the dominant electrochemical reaction in electrochemical impedance spectroscopy

چکیده

Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) is frequently used for the study of electrochemical reactions and associated mechanisms phenomena. To a specific reaction, it important to choose DC potential at which measured impedance data carries information mostly related that reaction. One first questions asked was: different potentials, reaction contributes most recorded spectra, cathodic or anodic? For example, corrosion where current density equal anodic density, does carry about two equally? The following development methodology essential as step analysis an This consists new model predicts dominant any potential. experimental results provided confirm validity model.

An integrated approach to electrochemical impedance spectroscopy

A philosophy for electrochemical impedance spectroscopy is presented which integrates experimental observation, model development, and error analysis. This approach is differentiated from the usual sequential model development for given impedance spectra by its emphasis on obtaining supporting observations to guide model selection, use of error analysis to guide regression strategies and experi...

Sensing Estrogen with Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy

This study demonstrates the application feasibility of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) in measuring estrogen (17β-estradiol) in gas phase. The present biosensor gives a linear response (R2 = 0.999) for 17β-estradiol vapor concentration from 3.7 ng/L to 3.7 × 10-4 ng/L with a limit of detection (3.7 × 10-4 ng/L). The results show that the fabricated biosensor demonstrates better det...

Reducing Impedance Fluctuation by Electrode Structure for Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy

In this paper, we investigated the electrode structure of the electrical bio-sensor to reduce impedance measurement fluctuation. Five pairs of the same electrodes were formed on the PCB substrate, and a fluidic channel was constructed with a double-sided tape and polycarbonate cover so that all the electrodes had the same reagent distribution. In order to find an electrode structure with little...

Local electrochemical impedance spectroscopy: Considerations about the cell geometry

Local electrochemical impedance spectroscopy provides a powerful tool for the investigation of surface heterogeneities on electrode surfaces. However, measurements are greatly influenced by geometry-induced frequency dispersion. In order to account for this frequency dispersion, both simulations and experiments were performed to explore the influence of a recessed electrode on the local and glo...

Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy of 6H-SiC in Aqueous Hydrofluoric Acid

Polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy of p-type 6H-SiC electrodes in an aqueous hydrofluoric acid solution is performed during the formation of porous SiC. The polarization of p-type SiC permits the identification of the flatband voltage, a Tafel-like region, and a limiting current which is attributed to the onset of the electropolishing regime. For some of the potential range...
